De Soto’s Fall Festival will be September 16, 2017. As usual, there will be a 5K Run/Walk that morning at 8 AM. The entry fee is only $15 if you register before the event and $20 that day. It will start at SMCI and make a loop north around the De Soto Rural Fire Protection District house on Miller. The route does vary a bit, but the beauty of this race is that it is one of the few in Jefferson County that is almost flat! If you’re new to running or are just looking for an easy walk, this is the race for you.

Some of you have asked…
The 2017 edition of Kid’s Mart will be held on Saturday, September 2nd! This is when kids can sign up to be a vendor and sell their produce, crafts, etc. The same rules and regulations apply regarding acceptable items at the market, but the cost of a booth is only $3. Any kid between 10 and 15 years old can apply to be a vendor that day at the reduced cost. They will also be allowed some special set-up time from 7:30-8:00 that morning. Tables and chairs will be provided for the kids’ booths.
