Our first tournament of the year will be May 1st, which coincides with the opening of the DeSoto Farmers’ Market. Big news for this year’s tournaments: higher payouts for winning teams and more funky prizes for those who are adventurous.

This is a fundraiser and chance to try something new! Bring your own partner and bags. 🙂 House bags will be available. We’ll follow ACL format/rules.

Registration is $40 per team with early bird registration of $35 through April 17, 2021.

Registration and practice begins at 1 PM. Bags fly at 2 PM on May 1st! Please bring your own food and drinks, and we’ll have a few snacks for sale.

Additional games throughout the day as time allows. These might include Last Man Standing, Money Shot, Airmail Challenge, etc.

Cornhole Tournament

Get Healthy DeSoto is hosting a cornhole tournament on Saturday, October 17, 2020 to close out the farmers’ market season. The tournament will include two-person teams and will be double elimination. That morning, the farmers’ market pavilion will be used for our last regular market of the season. Be sure to stop by and see all your favorite vendors one last time and place any holiday orders for goods. After the market shuts down at noon, we’ll begin setting up for the cornhole tournament. You are welcome to bring your own snacks, and we’ll have some for sale as well!

Our first tournament this year had to be rescheduled, but it was a great event. Even better: we have cool trophies for those who excel at cornhole…and other lesser-known skills too. We’re very excited about this second installment to give people a chance to play outside and visit with their neighbors. The cost is $35 per team with early registration costing just $30. Early Bird registration lasts through October 14, 2020. Online registration is available, and paper forms are available at the library and the farmers’ market. Don’t wait though! The price goes up to $35 on the 15th.

Paper forms can be turned in at the library through Wednesday, October 14, 2020 or at the farmers’ market on Saturdays. Online registration is available below.

Just in time for Father’s Day

Cornhole!

Our tournament is back on the books for June 13th. Entry is just $20 for a 2-person team prior to June 10th. The price goes to $25 after that. We have some great prizes and wonderful sponsors as well this year. Plus, there’s a couple of extra incentives:

Since it is just a week from Fathers’ Day, there’s $5 off for father/daughter or father/son teams. Use promotion code MYDADROCKS2020 when you register to receive the discount.
B.Y.O.B.: Bring your own bags (regulation size please)! There will be house bags available as well for teams that need some.
The Arlington will be on-site selling beer! No outside alcohol allowed, but please feel free to bring your own food and other beverages.

This is a great tournament for families and beginners. The fun atmosphere makes it wonderful for those new or inexperienced players who just want to enjoy an afternoon with friends.

April 20th is a big day

There is a lot going on in the small town of DeSoto on Saturday, April 20th. Here’s your preview:

The farmers’ market opens! It will just be a soft opening, and because it is so early in the year, scant vegetables will be available. However, we hope to have some cold crops, like lettuce, winter onions, spinach, etc. We’ll also have bedding plants, some baked goods, and a few artisans to round out the date. The market will open that day at the normal time: 8 AM. You might check out information about our new Loyalty Club too.
Our Annual Tractor Parade will begin at 10 AM. If you haven’t submitted your form to bring your tractor, please get that to Pat. We are so very fortunate to have her coordinate our parade, and there will be some volunteers walking the route handing out seed packets too. The Little League will follow us, so be ready for kids.
Cornhole Tournament? Well, we’re glad you asked! That begins at 2 PM with set up starting as soon as the market closes at noon. Main & Mill Brewing Company will be hanging out selling beverages, and we’ll have a food vendor with hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and other treats. In fact, we are very excited about this event. Don’t wait though. Registration forms need to be submitted by April 12th so that the bracket can be set up.
