Each year, the DeSoto Farmers’ Market celebrates National Farmers Market Week. We’ve included all sorts of activities over the years, and this year, we’re celebrating with our new raised bed community garden!
Here’s why we celebrate:
For so many reasons, farmers markets have always been essential. We bring the community together with nutritious foods, support the livelihoods of local farmers, contribute to the wellbeing of our planet, and so much more. We also want to empower people in our community to learn how to grow their own food and participate in growing food for those in need. Our children need to know where their food is coming from, and we want to engage them in a variety of ways!
Now, we think it is time to rejoice in our success and have a little fun.
We’re looking for gardening enthusiasts! If you’d like to help us on garden workdays or start a collaboration with a local school or scout troop, or you’d like to donate to the garden cause, please email [email protected] to let us know!
