Tractor Parade

2019 Tractor Parade Application

The soft opening for the 2019 market season will kick off on Saturday, April 20, 2019 with our annual Tractor Parade. The parade begins at 10 AM at Mahn’s Funeral Home and will proceed south on Main Street to St. Louis Street. We’ll end at the high school track. Great fun is sure to be had, and we are very excited about our 2019 season. Please complete the application and haul your tractor to town or just line up along Main Street and cheer us on! Here’s to a great market season!

Vendor Workshops

There are two workshops being offered for vendors this winter. The first one will be on February 19, 2019 at 6:30 PM. This workshop includes topics such as low tunnels, high tunnels, seasonal growing, and more. Season Extension Tips and Tricks for Greater Production will be held at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and is being brought to you by Lincoln University Cooperative Extension.

The second workshop, titled Social Media to Better Market Your Farm and You! will be offered on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 6:30 PM. This workshop will also be offered at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and will include information about social media outlets and using them to market farm products. Presenters include Mike Crowden with Root + Holler and Lincoln University.

Celebrate Our Heritage

The De Soto Farmers’ Market invites you to our first barbecue! Celebrate Our Heritage will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 4:30-8:30 PM. We’ll be setting up tables, games, demonstrations, an auction, and more right at the pavilion at 520 North Main Street. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly with great food too!

Barbeque / Music / Country Store / Cake Walk / Dessert Auction / Kids Activities / Artisan Demonstrations

Individual tickets are $25 and children’s (ages 3-12) tickets are $10. Children 2 and under are free. The funds raised will be used to continue to make improvements to our market. Tickets are available at First State Community Bank, the De Soto Public Library, St. Andrew’s UMC, and the farmers’ market. You can also purchase tickets online through Eventbrite. (There is an up-charge for using this service.)
