Do you know what you’ll be doing that day? If you’re looking to get moving, there are several options for your Thursday, November 22!
Turkey Trot STL has four locations for their 5K this year: Arnold, Eureka, Downtown, and St. Charles. Kids run free for this one, and the races tend to be packed. Pre-registration is recommended. The money goes to a good cause, and you can learn more here.
The Jefferson County YMCA also does Thanksgiving Day workouts. It includes a 5K, but they have other things going on that day as well. You might try a zumba or cycling class. You can print off a registration form for the 5K here or register online (search for “Special Events”).
Regardless of what you choose, there will be no sleeping in on Thanksgiving if you plan on participating. Most Thanksgiving Day programs begin at 8 AM. This gives you time to be active and make it home in time to put the rolls in the oven before lunch! So why not give it a shot and do something different. Drag a kid along or your whole family, and get moving before you settle in for your afternoon nap.
