The DeSoto Farmers’ Market is moving to Main Street beginning with the 2016 season! More details will be coming soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to visit some of the artisans from the market, you can join the Christmas Home Tour and drop by the Masonic Hall. Christmas Home Tour
The Christmas Home Tour is just around the corner. (Literally, depending on where you live in DeSoto!) As in years past, the tour will be the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and this year is sure not to disappoint with 8 homes making feverish preparations. There’s no better time to get you in the holiday spirit. Tickets are $15 if you purchase them in advance, and there are several shops around town where you can purchase them. You can also pick up 2 for $25 for those of you taking your mother, aunt, sister, girlfriend, etc. The tour is an at-your-own-pace sort of affair, but you need to plan for a couple of things.
- The official time is 9 am until 3 pm. Hosts need to have some sanity that day, so please plan on being finished with your tour by 3 pm.
- Lunch! 9-3 is a long stretch, and you’ll want to check your tour guide for coupons and specials from area restaurants. You might also put a bottle of water or two in your vehicle because there should definitely be much discussion between homes about what you just witnessed, and all that talking can make you parched.
- Cherished Memories
- Public Library
- Drummond’s
- 1st State Community Bank
- Fountain City Grille
- Lorenzo’s
